Default sub 2000 RPM bogging

Alright, its been a while since I've even thought about this kinda stuff, so bear with me.

I bought a single cam D16Y8 civic. It has a stage 2 crower cam. It idles decently for a cammed car, but if you give it gas below 2k, it does NOTHING. its dangerous and I need to know how to fix it ASAP. Said car is also tuned with Crome. I bought the car this way, so I know nothing of the map its running.

I was told that it doesn't use ANY of the 02 sensors. In my eyes, that's retarded and probably has alot to do with the bogging. Above 2 grand, it runs like a champ, pulls well and is generally a fast single cammer.

What could be causing the massive bog? Tune? 02? Both?

I have the same problem with a B18B in my eg hatch, minus the cam. I haven't fixed it yet, as I am in thge military and the car is back at home, but I've narrowed it down to either the calibration being of on the tps or bad ecu/bad o2 sensor. I also heard that a bad coolant temp sensor could cause this as well.

Its too rich most likely because of the lack of o2 sensors. when you floor it the computer runs the car off of maps instead of using data from the o2 sensors so it will run better. How was the car tunned?

Im thinking I need to go have them reinstate the 02 sensor and retune accordingly.

It was tuned with crome by Nu-Image. I did NOT have them do it, the previous owner did. Puzzlingly converted to obd-1, also. Im getting no CEL and above 2,500 or so the car has no throttle issues and runs pretty quickly.

The midrange and upper range pulls strongly. sub 2,500, the car stutters and bogs. It FEELS like when an 02 sensor goes bad or a bad map sensor or off timing. However, there are no CEL's. Im trying to get ahold of the tuners, but so far they are bad at returning calls.

Update-

I just learned that to make the cam idle (crower stage 2) they needed to lean it out dramatically at idle. This, in combination with what I suspect to be basemaps, could very well be what is causing the low rpm problems.

How do I fix this? What do I tell them to do? Street tune I guess?

Can you tune yourself? You can do it with the free version of crome. If not have them tune it again but put the O2 sensor on first. Unless its only running off the map(which is most likely the case)

Im guessing that the open lopp map down below 2-2.5K RPM is WAY off which is horrible becuase thats the RPM I cruise at when going 40mph or so. I made an appointment with a bunch of people I actually trust. I told them to:

1) Install Hondata (The only thing these guys tune with)
2) Tune the **** out of it.

Im having it taken care of on monday evening, so hopefully this will all be a thing of the past here soon. Ill keep the updates coming in case anyone is viewing this thread with the same problems.

Bump, got it fixed

The car had the cams installed and was WOT tuned and made to idle...thats its. I just had the car street/wideband tunes and everything works just like it should.

Big props to the guys at forward thrust for giving me the deal of the century on the Hondata and tuning and for working on the car at all hours just to get it done. They are consistently the best shop ive ever dealt with
