Default D16Z6 into 89 HF CRX

Hi, everyone, I tried searching, but i didn't get any real good info on the swap. What do I need to do this? Should i use the linkage from the z6 or the original one from the hf? Engine mounts? use the stock ones? What about that mpfi conversion thing? It is an HF so i wont need to do that correct? Since the tranny will be a hydro tranny, how can I go about and change the crx to hydro? I heard that Hasport makes an adapter. I couldn't find it unless you buy the b-series mount kit and the adapter comes with it. Please, anyone who has done this swap, I need you advice. all replies are greatly appreciated and thank you all

Stock mounts work.

If you have a Crx Si tranny you could use it and keep your stock linkages and shifter.

Don't need to do a MPFI conversion, it already is.

Contact Hasport and see what they can do for you.

call hasport they should sell the adapter by its self and also your map sensor is on your firewall i belive but the voltage scale is the same as the obd1 cars so cut your connector for it and solder it up to a obd1 connector and it should be good to go other then that

i would think your best bet for the tranny is to do a crx si trans rather then trying to do hydro

I was referring to the crx si tranny, it will bolt to the z6. It is not the same as the z6 tranny. The crx tranny is cable and the z6 is hydro. If it comes with the hydro tranny keep it and see if you can't get the conversion pieces.

someone said that there is no hydro cable conversion for d-series. I seen that the hasport and innovative kits are with the b-series mounts and the conversion. Thus seeming that they wont work for a d-series. I will use my hf tranny or acquire an a6 tranny and bolt it up. d-series trannies are interchangable i guess.

You will not want to use the hf tranny with the z6, the power band will be non exsistent.

Get an A6 tranny, that will be your best bet.

ok, so a6 tranny it is. so the engine wires i wouldn't have to mess with right, just change the connectors for injectors and distributor? The ecu harness will need an obd0-obd1 conversion right?

You can leave the resistor box and just use OBD0 injectors, won't make any difference unless you plan on turboing the engine later. Yep you will need to change the dizzy wiring. Just go to rywire.com and get their OBD0-OBD1 dizzy wiring harness.

I've posted the information needed for this swap several times in the last few days. Just scan the board for any other Z6 OBD conversion topic.

I've figured out that the car i have is a dx, DPFI. I know I have to change to MPFi. Rywire has a setup where they can redo the wiring harnesses by sending them a z6 harness and a dx harness so the z6 engine will just plug right up. I might do that

That is the easiest way. May cost a lil more, but it gives you the peace of mind that atleast the wiring will work right, lol.
