Default Catalytic Converter

Turns out my car needs a new CC. I have the stock exhaust system, any recomendations?

OEM - seems very expensive
Comptech - good brand, but isn't street legal
Generic direct fit - generic, but cheap(too cheap?)

When my cat died I went and got a magnaflow high flow cat, worked great and CEL was gone. Cost about $110 and it's dot approved.
