code 16 question i did a little search still have a question
my cel pop on today. i drove it to autozone thinking they could help NO but i check the code on the ecu code 16. well i turn it off and turn it on avgain and the cel is now off this is the 2nd time it happen the first time i never checked the code. and it doesn't change how the car runs AT ALL. i guess my question is what could the prob be? right now the check engine light is off.
In short, a code 16 will set whenever there is a break in the electrical path to the injectors. This includes at least the ignition switch, main relay, injector resistors, injector coils, and all the wiring and clips in between.
Start with resoldering the main relay. Suspect the injectors last.

Yes. The solder pads develope hairline fractures. Normally, they get bad enough to prevent the fuel pump from energizing after the cabin temperature gets high from parking in the sun, resulting in a no-start condition. (lots of topics on this if you want to search)
In your case, the fractures could be fine enough to briefly interupt the voltage feed to the injectors when you go over a bump. This type of intermittent failure could set a code but be short enough that you wouldn't notice any performance issues.
The cheapest route would be to resolder the pads on the main relay and see what happens after that.
