engine noise
ive done some research but all im finding is a variety of results that lead me in way too many directions, i was hoping someone here can help me. when i start my car cold or warm it hear a semi-loud clicking noise, (not a knocking, metal -to- metal) then after a few seconds it quites down and almost unnoticeable. the car will warm up and i can sort of hear it but not as loud as start-up, when i come to a stop. my grandfather seems to think that the lifters are dry, other people say head problems, i have read i need to grease bushings, fix and/or align belts, the cams are out of line with the pistons, and adjust sway bar??? this is my third honda and they have all made the same noise, the thing is ive been saving forever for this car and would like to keep it for a while. i was wondering if i need new lifters or valvesprings or is this just the "clickity honda engine noise???" now your probally wondering where the noise is coming from, honesty then i put my ear about the engine bay and push the throttle cable it seems all the some to me........
Could be that u need a valve adjustment, they might be a little too tight which causes clicking noises. I wouldn't worry about it too much, my old LS integra engine used to do that, and my brother's del sol does the same thing, always has, doesn't sound too serious, but if it really bothers u I'd say first check the valves. Good luck.
