Default Remote keyless entry in '98 Civic is kaput

Hi all,

We have a '98 Civic EX 4-door. Stock OEM radio and locks. Recently, the keyless remote stopped working. Replaced the battery, and reprogrammed it per the manual - hold down the narrow button on the right side of the radio until the locks cycle up or down, then push a button on the remote to program.

It worked for a few weeks, then stopped. Bought a new remote, programmed that, it worked for a week or two then stopped. Now, none of the remotes will seem to work.

Anyone know what might be wrong?

Thank you!

The keyless brain went bad, or the antenna **** the bed.

Aftermarket keyless is cheap.
