Default 95 civic Engine Problems help!!

Alright, i have a 95 civic ex and recently my car stopped working. Before all of this my car was running fine. First because i know my engine burns oil i decide to put a half court of oil without even checking. I also popped my hood and cleaned my engine very well with the car off of course. I also sprayed water in my intake to clean it out a bit. Now when i turn of the car it is sputtering and hesitating. I drive it for about a mile while it keeps on sputtering and such and decide I probably put in to much oil. So i drain all the oil out and put in the correct amount. Now my car will not start at all it trys but it just pops thats about it.
Someone pleasee help me!!!

Stupid move right there... you probably got water in the engine. But i don't think thats your issue.

Is your CEL on? Seems like you may have gotten the distributor wet.

i sprayed the entire engine with water including the disturbutor. I cleaned the filter of the intake( car was off) i didnt think that was bad for it? And as for the CEL Im not sure because it was already on because of an o2 sensor.

He said it runs, if you would read... the motor is not hydrolocked.

lol I never heard of this one...

When you wash your engine, you should cover all exposed electrical connections, including the distributor. You probably got water in it. I would take the cap off and look for water inside. Also remove your plugs and wires, make sure water isn't tin there too.

Is your car OBD1? Check the jumper for the codes your getting.

Did your car do the same start but sputter like mine? It definatley feels like somethign is clogged but i dont know how water could clog it? If something is clogged then i think it definatly is the CC since it was just about on fire. Like i said when i floor it it just stays in one spot and dies out, once inawhile it will climb up the rpms all the way.
Should i try taking the spark plugs out or something to try and get water out?
Man this sucks how my gonna get to work tomorrow

Why would you do that to your pore engine? I think that you should learn and study up on how an engine works, before you make the problem worse. Or please take that neglected Honda to a good mechanic. Man that is just crazy, to spray the whole engine with water, this is why an engine is covered to keep water out, and you open it up an soak it. Take it in and find out what is wrong with it, becuase from they way you are talking, you are goign to make it much worse.

But I just dont get why suddenly by spraying off my engine with water would make my cat clog?

Can i just take the cat off and the exhaust and see if that will work, i dont the cat for the car to run right? This is a big problem, if so now i have to order a new cat and take apart my exhaust. just to see if this is even the problem.

"I sprayed some water in the intake mani"

lmao

Okay, engine maintenance tip #1:
DON'T LET WATER GET INTO THE ENGINE

lol, aight, ur not hydrolocked because ur engine wouldn't run at all..sounds like u roasted ur distributor...change the dizzy rotar and cap out...if that's not it..change the plug wires out....if that's not it..then you may have bigger problems to worry about...

well first of all yeh u definately need a new cat if its bright red....and yeh like everyone else says u prolly got ur dizzy wet, but i dunno if thats the problem...if it was wet but has had time to dry out a lot of times itll b fine....i would check on that cat first cuz if it cant breathe it wont run....other then that i would try either A)try a known working distributor if u can get ur hands on one...or B)buy a new one...o yeh and dont ever do that to ur poor motor again

hey guys just thought id give alittle update. Well I changed my spark plugs, wires, and cap and rotor of the dizzy and that fixed the problem. I had a huge problem getting one of the spark plugs out, it took 3 of us about 2 hours to get it out. But, once everything was back in she fired right up and is driving fine.
Thanks for all your help and suggestions.
