is my flywheel going

ok so i was just wondering cause i like have to let my rpm drop to like idle to changed gears is that normal for a 93 da.i was reading something bout flywheels and it sound like a flywhell issue not sure any help. thanks

flywheels dont go bad, they have to be resurfaced everyonce in a while (like when changing a clutch disc) but that's not your problem. If it grinds when you try to shift it, or doesnt want to go into gear when it used to... chances are your Syncros are going out. If it's consistently the same gears, thats what it is.

.... Ok that is true but that has nothing to do with you shifting gears... Your flywheel and your tranny are not one in the same..
In any case JYGSR has your awnser your syncros are bad not the flywheel.

new syncros do not mean a new tranny. In fact, bad syncros are a pretty common problem, especially in cars with a bad history of shifting abuse. Take it to any transmission shop and they will replace the syncros for a few hundred bucks. If youre feeling ducky, you can do it yourself... it's actually not that hard if you have a Chilton's manual.

i knew but i rather buy a new tranny cause it cost bout 500 bucks to repair
