Stock ECU tuning limits?
Ok... I basically want to mod my D series to the point where the ECU is pushed to it's limit but still usable so tuning is not necessary and I can still run regular gas.
So how much HP you think can be gotten running a stock ECU and regular gas?
The real question becomes what mods would I do to take it to this limit and which ones should i stay away from to keep from crossing that fine line?

depends are you obd2 or obd1. You can chip like metioned or if u want the stock ecu without a chip you can get a vafc and just tune with that but that really isnt reliable.

No, because you want to see what your mini-me is capable of on a stock ECU. It's capable of jack ****. Ask me how I know.

the ecu is only good for basic bolt on's once you start doing anything more, get it tuned

ok. well if you don't actually know then stop wasting your time.
A stock ECU without tuning is capable of more than it is doing. I want to know it's limit. Obviously no one here has an intelligent response.
Go ahead and say it isn't an intelligent question. Flame away. But if it was such a dumb question you would be able to explain why other than... "just tune it and do it right"

What the heck is your problem? Can you actually add any intelligence to this or do you just go thread to thread flaming questons you can't answer?
Either you know or you don't

you gotta understand no one really pushes the limit on stock ecu's because:
if they're spending their money, they will invest in tuning.
if they are trying to keep their stock ecu, they just do bolt ons.
I have never heard of a fully built na civic run stock ecu for ***** and giggles

To answer an earlier question... I want to stop at that point because I don't want to bother with tuning. If it means only an intake and full exhaust then I am fine with that. I am just looking for someone who would know if there is anything more I would be able to do without actually needing to tune.
I don't tune for max power but for maximum efficiency and driveability. I tune so the engine has proper air/fuel. If I hit a point that the oem fuel system cannot deliver enough fuel then I have done more than I wish to.

Simple answer... No. You add a cam(s) you need to tune; you add a fuel pump, you're wasting fuel; you add pistons, you need to tune.
The furthest you could safely go would be basic bolt ons.
Get over how people respond to you're threads. If you can't handle it then stop asking questions, period. You'll always get a smartass answer.
