Default Alpine 9856 w/ ipod fullspeed and versatile link

I just installed the Alpine 9856 a week ago and am very happy with the purchase so far. When I installed it, I also added both the ipod fullspeed hook up and the Versatile Link which just transforms the ai net input to rcas. I then attached a wire with rcas on one end and a mini headphone jack on the other so that I could plug that into any type of protable mp3 player, not just ipods.

The problem is that the head unit doesnt seem to detect the device hooked up through the Versatile Link. The fullspeed ipod connection works flawlessly. With that, I would press the "source" button until "aux" shows up. With the Versatile Link, its never even detected. Can I only use one or the other? Has anyone else tried doing this set up? Thanks in advance guys!

So you are having trouble with the AI-Net plug. Push the reset button on the front of the head unit. Its a pin size button behind the face of the radio. And make sure tha t the dip switch on the bootom of the HU is not set to the EQ. IM with questions. But pressing the reset switch should solve the problem.

The AUX port is turned on. I've also tried pressing the reset pin with no luck. The 9856 doesn't have a built in EQ either.

No one else has tried doing this?

or you may need to wire the interrupt connection. i did a search and it said to ground this wire with a switch and then go to menu and turn this OFF.
