Audio help
Alright i picked me up a 87 rex last week and got it to run. Now i want to upgrade the audio. I have an aftermarket radio but the colored wires from the radio to the dash are different. Im not sure what to do besides try evey combination. (mind you there are like 8 wires on each!) Any help would be appreciated.

Thnx for the help. All the wires from the radio matched up to the car but there was still left over wires from the car. A solid black one, a red one with black stripe, and one more i believe. The radio wont turn on so im guessing these are important.
Ummm yeah... You might want to consider paying someone to do this for you... You'll be lucky if you haven't fried the deck by wiring it up like you did...
The colors will not match up. You need to use the chart to determine what color each wire is, then match up the appropriate wire off the deck... Example, left front + off the deck goes to blue/green in the car and so on and so forth.... Not the way you've done it...
Disconnect your wiring, check for blown fuses, check to make sure you've got 12v constant, 12v switched, then redo it the correct way. If it still doesn't power up or you get no sound, it's because you fed 12v into a wire you shouldn't have...

</TD></TR></TABLE> Ditto the above, also the black wire is oem ground and the red/black is oem illumination, the red/black would be the only one left over, and only if the HU does not have an illumination input, [orange on most HUs] all the other wires should be used.
OK B18C_EJ8 give it up, WTH is an 87 rex?

I understand Teg would be short for Integra, but how the hell is REX short for CRX, it's more like a nick name.
After the last time you enlightened me on what an EG was I did some googling to educate myself on the letter designations and what they mean, but only got more confused as it appears that the same car may have a diff. letter designation depending on if it's USDM or CDM.
I am sooooo confused
you wouldn't have a link, ["visual aid"] about that, [letter designation and meaning] would you?

NO NO No dude. you gave me the link to install dr and i was matching those colors to color LOL. It would be impossible to do it without the chart and thats what i was asking for.
did you find this at that website? i think this is what you need. since you are going through this trouble, you maybe able to buy what's called an aftermarket REVERSE harness to "restore" the car's wiring.
