Viper Alarm
Alright, my sister drives a 98 accord.
Her alarm, which is aftermarket, a viper(as the thread says) started to act a bit funny.
Ever since it started acting weird, the remotes wouldnt work and now, I believe that the alarm is causing the car to not start.
I know this isnt exactly the most descriptive explanation, but, I was wondering if anyone has encountered any problems like this with after market alarms or, has any information on what might be the problem.
Thanks.

You might want to look at ALL the connections from the alarm, mainly the starter wire. Be sure that all the solder joints are nice and clean. Cold solder joints are the number one cause of an alarm not working right.

I have a viper alarm and it started acting funny too. For months the stupid thing would not arm with the remote but one day i accidently touched the remote and it armed. After that i was having trouble arming and disarming it. One day i tried to disarm it and it wouldnt so i had to disconnect the main wires under the steering harness and its. My car still starts but i am out an alarm.
I hope you can find what you need.

I guarantee you that it was an install problem. I have had my Viper alarm for about 5 1/2 years now and have not had one problem.
I have yet to see a Viper alarm come back with any problems due to the actual product being bad.

hmm....i had a really bad electrical shortage with my Clifford Alarm... lol..it melted a few wiring harnesses cuz it was being grounded.. check under the steering wheel.. there should b a wire that goes from the alarm to a starting.. thing i forget what its called lol ..its kinda late sorry.. trace the wires make sure non of them are touchin other lol
i got a Python remote(also made by DEI) and i had a problem the first year i had it installed. there was a bad connection somewhere but it got fixed. fast foward to two years later, my remote goes bad. if, and that's a big IF, your sister got installed at an authorized Viper dealer, take it back to the shop that did the install and they can check it out for you since there's a lifetime warranty.

yup. battery connections was good. whenever i pressed arm/disarm/remote start, nothing would happen. at times it would operate as usual, but most of the time, i'd be standing there constantly pressing disarm so i can get into my car and just go home. the shop sent it back to DEI to see what was wrong with it.
