throwout bearing..
yes i searched.. but i have a question.. i posted about this way long ago... when is the throw out bearing part of your clutch? or the tranny? when i g o start out in 1st.. it makes like a squealing , like grinding whining noise.. and its getting on my nerves.. will ita ffect the tranny? should i get a new clutch or what? i kinda lost.
Throwout bearing is not a part of either of those systems, it's down there and it's like "a part of the transmission," but it's really a part of the clutch release mechanism.
Squealing, grinding, whining noise.... Belts? I don't think the throwout bearing can be part of a symptom like that. If the TO Bearing has problems, the symptom will be dependent on clutch actuation. Granted taking off has clutch actuation, but why doesn't it do it when you're shifting? Hmmm... How are you so sure it's down near the tranny and clutch?
