like said we have an auto meter (phantom series) egt guage and when the engine is not running ie: key at 1 position it reads temp. but when engine is running theres no reading. well sometime we get some signal but the needle goes bersek but usualy it doesnt. the needle is burried below 100f like. just for fun a tried putting a 12 v regulator to the 12v in, but nothing has changed (i tought it may have too much voltage with the engine running) do you think it may have something to do with rf signal because the probe wires pass right across the alternator (integra frame with h22 turbo).
so do you have any ideas? like shielding the probe wires, also we tried a new guage and it dows the same thing. we put the guage directly to a chassis ground (nothing else on this ground), and power comes directly from the fuse box with nothing else on it.

Sounds like something to do with your wiring... Have you tried to run new wires? Or checked the old ones to see if something rubbed against it and its grounding out?
