Default i got 6k need to pick a swap any options?

i just got rid of my crx cause it was hit from behind. so i took my other one from the garage. i have saved up 6k to do i complete swap. this crx has nothing no radiator, motor nothing its just a frame. now i don't want any turbo and was thinking of staying pretty stock maybe do the valve train. i was considering in doing a b18c5 but not sure though. thats my budget and i ain't going over.

6K my vote goes for an H22 and some suspension. Most bang for the buck in my opinion and you'll still have money left over.

What do you plan on using the car for. B16b is a pretty big waste of money for what it is. For a stock motor the C1 and C5 still have no torque. Both motors would be fun but I'm still voting H22 for most power for your money.

H22's are like a whole 85lbs more then a b16 and that can easily be fixed with some mild suspension.

dont waste your time on the h22, id go with the c5, you just dont have much room with the h22, so if you did that, have fun working on it

i understand that but h22 has the same hp but more tq. and i ain't going to turbo the car like i said its staying pretty much stock but if u guys really think the c5 is better well then i'll do it.

They are both good power engines, but the C5 will have more support in the aftermarket, the B series of engines will always have more support for parts, that would be the reason for my choice to go TYPE R!

Or you can save a little money by getting a C1 block and slapping a worked over B16 head on it for a mean *** LS VTEC.

I'd go K, thats enough for the engine, so you already are halfway there!

good idea and all but his stated budget is 6K and no more. it would be impossible to finish the car with a K swap.

The C5 is a better engine than the H22 in more than just the fact that it's smaller. Personally without seeing you're CRX frame but taking a guess... I would definitely not drop $6K on my CRX if I had it lying around.

if i was to go k i woud go k20 type r but i don't want a k. as far as after market parts i only plan on doing the valvetrain and running it stock no turbo or nos. this is why i don't mind doing either swap

I wouldnt mind a little more weight in the front helpin plant the tires.....

When he said 6k I thought he meant thats all he had, I didnt realize $6k is what he's willing to spend.

If it were me Id buy the K, and buy the rest of the required parts bit by bit, couldnt take that long, and it'd pay off big time in the end.

I agree with JEdubz though, it's really a toss up of is your CRX even worth puttin 6k into?

one i'm a chick not a he. two it ain't nobodys concern about where i put my money i mean isn't crxbart putting about 10-12k in the k swap he's doing. sorry but i'm not a fanatic of k-series motors. there good and all but thats not what i want. all i'm saying is that i either want the h22 or c5 and i don't care about the weight or space.

if u do a k u want a k20r but you dont want a k...that makes a lot of sense...
whats the point of changing ur valvetrain if ur gonna leave the motor stock?
u need to figure out what YOU want? u already have an idea of what you like h22 or c5 right? see that bright red search button on the top right corner...click it enter h22 read as much as you can about h22s see what you like and dont like about the setup...then do the same for the b18c5...maybe then you will have a better idea of what suits your needs

my point in the choice of a a k motor was that if i had to pick one it would be the k20r but that not my choice i already said a buch of times that it was either the h22 or c5 u guys kept bringing up the k. and as far as the motor being stock all i want to do is the valvetrain and thats it. i'm going to put pistons or turbo or any of that ****. i'll read up on the engines and back on this
