Wet Engine
My other half yesterday decided it would be a good idea to hose down her dirty, dusty engine compartment on her 2001 Accord LX. Of course, as I feared, the car will now not start. I know this is a common problem, but I just wanted to check on here to ask if there's anything particular to this model vehicle that I might need to take into account when diagnosing and treating the problem. My approach is to identify what ignition system component was affecting by the wetting (distributor I expect), dry it out if it's serviceable, or replace it if it isn't. If there's anything else I should be concerned about on this model? I would appreciate the feedback.
Thanks!

Don't be too hard on her. It's done all the time, with no problems. I usually spray mine off at the car wash, when it gets dirty. Never had a no start problem. Check the cap, and make sure the gasket is on it and there are no cracks.
LOL....somthing similar happened to me. the difference was she was wipping the dash board and didnt know she was missing that clear plastic cover that goes over the cluster...and ended up breaking all the needles for the speedo, temp gauge, fuel gauge and rpm gauge....hehe was a little hard on my wallet...but it was an accident...but as they mention above.
