Default Use of VAFC on a non-vtec car

the only reason im asking is because I'm wondering if i can just use the air/fuel tuning of the vafc on my 4agze equiped ae86. If not, i'm just gonna purchase separately a vtec controller and safc.

Yes.

Just tune the Lvt section of the high throttle map and make sure you adjust all your rpm bands appropriately.

NP. I hope I don't turn out to be wrong, but I have ran my VAFC without any of the VTEC wires hooked up and it worked fine (I was trying to troubleshoot an installation problem at the time).

can't you just use the s-afc for non-vtec cars?

Yes a VAFC is pretty much the same as the S-AFC but with the Vtec controlller option.

I would use the safc, but i got an integra and corolla and never drive them at the same time. so i figured i could kill two birds with one stone by buying the vafc instead of the safc and vtec controller.

Yes, you can use the VAFC to tune a/f on a non-honda, just as you can use an SAFC on a honda to tune a/f.
