Default bad knock and o2 sensor?

i gotta b16 crx non-obd and i get 2 codes,1 is knock sensor and other is o2 sensor...could this be why my engine has a hard time idling and cant rev past 3000rpm? and runnin super rich,i mean so rich i can smell unburnt fuel,is that normal with thse codes?

thanks, clarence

Well yeah i would think, im surprised it even start with those codes. I would look into fixin the problem by getting rid of the codes then resetting your ecu and trying again to see how it does.

They are not wired yet.

Im just asking that if the ecu is throwing codes for the knock sensor and 2nd o2 sensor,,is it normal that the car would not idle without giving it throttle,,and also run pig rich...Just wondering if that is normal with those codes? I order the subharness already but it didnt come yet....and im not driving it like this just started it up

What ecu are you using? If it is not going past 3k rpms it soulds like you are in limp mode or you have an automatic ecu

its the obd0 jdm b16 sir ecu..pw0?

im just wondering if its normal for it to be in limp mode with those o2 and knock sensor codes?....and is it normal for the engine to have a tough time idling?

In limp mode with those codes i would say it is very likely to act like that, but then again i can't be sure but it's not like thats not possible. I know you should just wait and when you do get the subharness to drive it, lol obviously but goodluck with that.

why ur car wont idle and is runnign very rich with no o2 sensor...maybe because its the o2 sensor that tells your computer if ur running rich or lean...now ur timing is retarded and ur ecu is chokin your motor with fuel so it doesnt run too lean and get messed up...knock sensor is not as important as the o2, but will still make your cel coem on...wire them both up and watch how well your car will respond
