oil in intake?..whats wrong?

well there was a substantial amount.. i mean not a whole lot but we may have caught it when it started.. not sure.. but its definately oil...it seemed fresh because it wasnt real sticky .. so im thinking it hasnt been doing this long!!
The only way oil can get into the intake arm is to go up through the intake valves and up the intake manifold runners and out the throtle body. Thinking about it has me confused. Is it under warranty? Oh wait, never mind, you have an aftermarket AEM CAI, your shizzle is void y0!

Does the 2000 have a valve cover breather? It's a hose that comes out of the valve cover and into the intake tube before the throttle body. Usually you get oil spray up through there. It's not a huge deal and he can put a filter in the hose if it really bothers him. Make sure the PCV valve is working correctly.

it IS NORMAL...what amount is normal? i dunno...mine seems to spit out a lot also
Yes, obviously some is normal, but he is talking about more than just some I think. There is a vacuum on that line, and might suck up some spray. Maybe he overfilled the oil pan?
spray some throttle body cleaner in there and pull some rags through with a coat hanger or fishing line. I also get some oil residue in my intake, not puddles.

Jesus everyone calm down. The EGR inevitably sucks up oil blow-by. It's totally normal. With a catch can, you can catch a teaspoon of oil a month! How exciting.

I also have a Jeep Cherokee. On those vehicles, when the Crank Case Ventilation valve goes bad oil backs up and soaks the Air Filter, so your problem is somewhere along those lines. No big deal...easy fix.
