Default Weird ecu problem...story inside

Ok 1 year ago i swapped a b16 into a 90 crx si for some man..It was B16a,s1 tranny, and pw0 ecu....I wired in the 2nd o2,knock,vtec solenoid, and pressure to the ecu clips..So everything was good....Vtec engaged and the ecu revs to the full 8000rpm,no codes, nothing, the engine ran perfect...HE calles me up last week telling me theres something wrong with the engine..It will not stay idling at all..He has to keep giving it gas,and it sounds like its running on 3 cylinders.....So i tell him to bring it by (he only lives 10minutes away)..So of course im thinking all it needs is a simple tune-up....So i changed the sparkplugs, cap, rotor, air filter and fuel filter for him.....Engine still runs like ****,will not stay idling and seems like its just running horrible,,Very rich,,almost like its in limp mode ..But there are no codes,no check engine light.....Ok so just for the hell of it i put in a spare stock pm6 ecu i had just to see maybe if that would help..I did and the engine ran perfect,,idled perfect, stayed running, not rich,etc...Now i know this is not the correct ecu but he'll have to deal with it for a while...I told him just take it easy...So what the hell is wrong with the pw0? I also tested it on my b16 crx and it did the same ****,,Would not idle and sounded like running on 3 cylinder,,pig rich...???????? This is a stock virgin PW0...No one touched the inside of this thing....What does honda-tech think?

strange, it sound like one cylinders injector isnt firing, look inside the ecu for anything burnt or burnt smelling.

its those cases that ppl just cnat explain. i heard stories here in honda thread where these symthoms came cuz of a bad o2 sensor. even if there were no codes. but since u put the ecu in uthe other car and it still did it.
was the ecu chiped?

but then u will be throwing a code 16 i believe. thats as long as one of ur injectors is not firing. correct me if im wrong tho.

Actually forget the pictures..Theres to much stuff..nothing smells burnt at all,,everything looks perfect..No burns,No water ever got into this thing....I dont get it ,its not throwing codes, and if it is indeed bad why does the car start? I don't get it.

like i said this is one of those cases where u just cat explain. when my ecu was bad it only reved up to 3000 rpm, the guy at the junkyard said it was not my ecu because is very unlikely for the ecu to go bad. but it turns out it was. it was a 90 prelude. i dont even bother to try and trouble shoot it becuse it was not chiped, nor do i know much about the ecu circuits. l say the only thing there is left is to just buy another one.

no no. he just clarified that the ecu is the one making the problem, because even in his b16 rex it did the same thing. read first

loydadvance: he did check out the inside of the ECU.

OP: Since you put HIS ECU into your car...did you by any chance put YOUR ECU into his car? His ECU did the same thing to your car, did you check to see if yours worked in his?
I see you put a pm6 into his car, im asking did you put a pw0 or pr3 in there too?

even if u cant see it, an injector driver may have failed in the ecu. my PO8 took a **** on me recently and we cant find a thing wrong

Yes i did..But i couldnt let him use the pr3 ..That's mine!..But yeah his car started up on the first 2 spins and went to the normal high idle,,then idled down perfectly at about 800rpm....No cel,no codes,nothing...
