What Happens At 40 mph?
I have a rebuilt H23 in a 95 Lude. The rebuild was kinda rough but it seems to be running ok as of right now. I still have a fast idle problem that I would love to be able to cure but that's not my main concern right now.
At 40 mph, I get a check engine light. I can drive around all day in any gear at 39 and get nothing but as soon as I hit 40, there it is. When I turn the car off and restart it, it goes away until I do over 40 again. Any Ideas?

Alright don't rip me apart here cause this is gonna sound pretty stupid. I know my Hondas and all but this is the first time I've ever attempted to jump a check engine light on an OBD1 vehicle. When I do, the SRS light (not the CE light) flashes continuously until the jump is broken. It's gotta be the right harness because it's the only one down there and it's grey like it should be and not orange like something for the SRS. What's my problem?
#1: Thank You for pointing out that the harness was blue. Past Instruction failed to mention that it would probably be plugged into a little keeper harness.
#2: Its too small of a space to see clearly but it looks like "keeper harness" had a wire or two running out of it. Will I screw anything up by NOT plugging the ECU jump harness back into the "keeper" harness. (Like disabling the ECU from storing future codes?)
And finally #3: I seem to be getting 3 separate codes. First: 2 long flashes followed by 2 short. Second: 4 long followed by 3 short. And finally: 2 long, 3 short. What's the verdict?

so heres what i got for your CEL flashes:
code 22: VTEC pressure valve
code 23: knock sensor
code 43: fuel supply system
sounds like you have some work to do. check all your wire connections and make sure you don't have any oil leaks or fuel leaks anywhere.

You should be fine as I leave mine out as well.

Code 23 and 43 make sense. But It's an H23A so code 22 has me lost. Why would it throw a light and code for something that's not there?
