Default Rod bearings colors

Kind of a stupid question and I don't ahve my Helms manual with me right now. Anyone know what color the Rod bearing are in a H22A for a 98 Prelude? Thanks.

There really isn't any way to do it without looking at the codes stamped on the crank...it'll give you the size of the rod journals which you then look up in your handy dandy helms manual to find the "correct" color based on your new rods. In order to do that you need to at least drop the oilpan, oilpump pickup, and windage tray...along with everything else to get there (bottom of header, crossmember, etc, etc) but it shouldn't take too long if you're dead set on getting the codes before you pull the motor. It should be spot on however I'd recommend still using plastigage to doublecheck the tolerances.

do the bearings actually have this colored marking on them? mine were totally clean metal, no color on the sides or anything. also the block was stamped "4 4 4 4 4," which i assume corresponds to the 5 bearings in the bearing caps maybe? or is that something totally different?
