Default need help with 1-4 wire o2 sensor.

hi. i've search alot, and can't find anything, and need help fast..

I'm changing exhaust manifold as we speak. But the new manifold allready got a 4-wire o2 sensor on it, and I can't get the damn sensor off.

My car only uses 1-wire o2 sensor (obd-0 doch zc engine).

Can I use the 4-wire sensor, if I only use the signal wire? do the 1 wire and 4 wire give out the exact same sigal?

If so, wich wire is the sinal wire on the 4 wire sensor?

Well, I know you didn't search very hard because I've found the info for the 4wires on multiple threads myself.

Why dont you research, find out the signal wire, and go try it yourself and see if you throw a code?

yes, i've searched, and yes I know the white is the signal (just wanted to be sure).

no point in trying to hook it up, and look for a code.

lets say that the 4.wire needs heating to work *** it should. And that if i don't use heating, it will give out a signal, but it will be a little bit diffrent from the signal from the 1-wire sesor.

The ecu would not understand that there is somthing wrong, it will just give the engine more\less fuel.

Sounds to me like you've answered your own ?

Why cant you get the o2 sensor off? use 2 wrenchs and get that **** off, I wouldn't recomend you ghettofab your o2 sensor as it's one of the more important, permanently used components. If you 1/2 *** it, it'll probably give you more **** in the future.
If all else fails with you getting it off yourself, just take it to a local shop. I couldn't get my axle nuts off my hubs, so I tookem to a shop. $10 for both sides, and to think I spent 2 days battling those nuts when I could hadem off in 1, for $10, and could've progressed in other areas of my work.

BTW if you need a 1 wire o2 sensor, I got a couple extras.

i've got lots of 1-wire sensor to, so that's no problem.

the reson i can't get it of is that it's so damn rusted. It was looking fine at first, then i took the special o2 wrench and started trying to get it of. No chance in hell, I even warmed the manifold upp with a gass welder. Now the hexagon (?) pattern is all round, and it's impossible to get any grip. even with mye special wrench..

wow, doesnt sound good, my advice to you is heat that bitch up til its red and IMMEDIATELY hit it with the wrench, you need 2 people to do it, you cant give the rust that split sec it needs to reform.

Have you hit it with an PB Blaster or any other kind of penetrating spray?

yes, i've used lots of WD-40 (rust deformer)..

But I seriously doubt that there is any differce in the signal from the sensor, I think the only diffrent is that obd-0 does not use the o2 when it's cold , and obd-1 uses heaters on the sensor, so that it can be used when it's cold.

I just don't dare to test it, in case it might run lean (i got 4-5 deg static advanced ignition)..
