I went to the races in Las Vegas last weekend and met up with a VERY good friend Cortney Green which had brought my gt42r, 4" downpipe, and 3" IC piping to pick up and take home. Well, the races went great! I loved being out there but on the way back I totaled my rental car by flipping it 8-9 times in New Mexico. Ended up in the ER for 3 days then I finally checked myself out and flem home. As soon as I got home I went back to the ER and they said I came out with no broken bones, just 3-4 cracked ribs and basically every single muscle in my back and neck is sprained. I am glad that Im fine. The turbo and parts can be replaced BUT I CANT! lol! I posted a few pics below of the accident.
Anyways, my question is this. When I found my turbo, the compressor housing was missing and never found. I spun the shaft and it spun freely. I dont think that the shaft is bent or hurt in any way. I checked the inlet(coldside) blades and they all looked fine to me. Maybe 1 small chip on one blade.
Is there anyone that sells a compressor housing and the v-band that holds it on for the gt4294r??? Does anyone know? If you have a compressor housing plz help me out here!!! Even if you have a blown gt42r I could use for parts!!!
THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR EVERYONES HELP!!!!!!

I had the cruise control set at 78mph...went to pass a semi and he was going at least 75mph because I was barely passing by him. It wasnt like I blew by him. Anyways, as soon as I got up to the front of his truck, the wind off the front of the truck pushed my car over the yellow line just enough to catch the uneven pavement. As soon as that happened the cruise control kicked in and jerked the steering wheel out of my hands and I flew off into the median...then back on the road completely sideways...then back off into the median. That happened 3 times until I finally on the 3rd time sideways on the road before going back off into the median the right rear tire caught and flipped the car in mid-air for 1-2 times. 1st impact was on the roof and it broke my seatbelt upon inpact. The officers told me that was a safety feature and if the seatbelt wouldnt have broke then it would have broke my back in 2 or cut me in half. Anyways, when I woke up the car was right side up and I was pinned in the back seat behind the drivers seat. 3-4 truck drivers helped me out of the car. I was freaking the HELL out!!! The engine caught on fire, 1 of the truck drivers put the fire out. I really dont remember anything after the 1st impact. They said I was knocked out for a good 10-15 minutes before they could wake me up. The truck drivers walked up expecting to see me dead.
Oh yea, almost forgot to add...the cruise control was stuck on during the whole time I was trying to get the damn car to stop.
Anyways, I am lucky to be able to walk and to be alive. The turbo can be replaced!

wow holly **** !! good thing your ok
as far as the turbo that chip will throw it out of balance and it will distroy its self , I would see if you could claim it on insurance as a loss , and get it sent out to garrett and explain the situation to them.

You can buy the Garrett CHRA seperately if that's all you need. Call some garrett dealers and see what they can do for you. You're not going to want to run a 74 or 76mm turbo on your car, you'll end up with a silly powerband and a dyno number that you'll never be able to get a track time to back up. Powerband is very important in drag racing. A peak number doesn't mean much in itself...

I looked into rebuilding my 42r and garrett told me that I have to buy the center section with wheels. that's why I went with GT4067

If price is a concern, a non ball bearing GT42 would be a better option than a 74 or 76mm ITS.
Is there a reason why Garrett does not sell bb exhaust wheels for 42r?
It will be really cheap rather than buying the center section which I think is almost as expensive as complete 42r from classifieds or ebay.

Garrett doesn't sell any of the components of the BB center sections seperately. If anything is damaged, you have to buy a complete CHRA. I'm sure the reasoning behind this has something to do with assuring that everything is assembled right.
I think it shouldnt be a problem if garrett assebled the turbo. atleast we dont have to buy CHRA. Save us little guys some money

most definately!!! i have already contacted many lawyers and theyre wanting to help me. the cruise control got stuck at 78mph and didnt let up one bit! i mean, i went on and off the road 3 times before flipping the car 7-8 times so you know i was at least doing 70-75 mph....
and as far as rebuilding the turbo...i just spoke with Art(Arturbo) and he said i should send the turbo back in to Precision with pics of the wreck and what happened and they should hopefully rebuild it for me. i really would appreciate it if Precision could help me out here because my doctor bills alone from this has cost almost double of what i have put into this project so far. i have put an easy 20,000 dollars into this project and it isnt even finished yet...lol!
