Tachtometer showing 0 when I idle
Srry if someone already post something like this.
I have a 1990 civic HB si (d16a6) and i have been driving it for a year. And it has been
a while since that thing has occured. I have asked many people what is the
problem. Some say its a bad wire others that there is not enough gaz going into
the engine.
or probably its just the idle speed that isnt correct.(i dont want to seem as a newb. but could someone post a pic were the screw is.I have a little idea where it is bu since I just started to fix my car and the manual that i am using the mpfi is a little different i dont want to screw anything.)
The engine sound is very low but smooth it feels like sometime the engine isnt running at all.(wich help me conclud that is the idle speed that isnt correct.)
I am just worried about a thing i usualy rev hard +-6000 rpms so i just hope that the rpm hasnt shifted .
also how accurate is the stock Tachtometer?
thx for the help.

stfu, are u serios or are u being a smart ***
that dude is full of it ur exaust isnt gonna ruin ur valves. i think someone else said that **** before and got flamed for it. it was prolly him
and by the way not enough gas isnt gonna cause ur tach to read inacurately.
it sound like u got a bad ground or somethin. does the tach look real jumpy when it does finnaly start workin.

my tach does the same thing and my car idles the same way. sometimes you cant even tell if its running....well not exactly i have an open downpipe but its really quiet sometimes. i just learned to deal with it...
I think it could also be the ICM, are your RPM's off at all while driving. I experience the same issue from time to time with my EF and my RPM's are off by 1k-3k rpm as far as the tach reads (VTEC x-over at 6k for example). Also the needle will shift multiple times between the correct RPM and the wong one as I am driving.

Im not even going to comment on the exhaust this guys a joke, but the stock tach is not that accurate, at least not at idle. I have a digital tach that displays in 10rpm increments and at idle the when the stock tach shows about 400rpm steady the digital one is at least 650rpm - 700rpm and you can see it fluctuate about 50rpm at idle. the stock tach doesnt even move the needle stays steady
