I always use a OEM head gasket...I hear bad things sometimes about kinetic headgaskets integrities......the best way I know of changing compression is pistons: which for your motor the only options on a unsleeved block is type-s or mahles......

your using crome good.....you want to make better power go to 3" exhaust it's becoming the trend around me I made 201 whp and 165 tq with alot less mods than you running crome...
