My engine is tacking out at 3k rpms because of the rev limiter. I just swapped this d15b vtec into my 89 civic hatch. please help me!!

 

im pretty sure if you put your stock tails back on it will work wonderfully

 

does the motor bop i.e , does it make that sound cars make when they max out? If so, i had this problem in a d16 and the problem was the distributor, it had gone bad b/c motor had about 240,000 miles, cost me 200 bucks, but you can find cheap on ebay.

 

yea.. sounds like a dizzy problem.. same thing happen to my gsr.

 

Sounds to me like the ECU's running the engine in safe mode......

it is throwing a crank sensor code, so maybe it is the dizzy
