removing window seals
Does anyone know how to remove this weather striping from these windows on an integra? My car is going to paint soon and I need to get all the seals off.
Thanks

the glass and the seal are sold as one piece, along with a couple of pieces of tape to install it. if you don't want tape marks, you might have to just bust the window and shell out $135 ish a side for replacements.
you dont have to break it to take it off, but it is a pain in the ***. you have to do it from the inside, which might require taking off the 1/4 plastic first. i'd just recommend just carefully taping it up if you don't want a lot of extra work.
do it right the first time..have it removed..it will look a lot cleaner and from experience when you try to tape it up..you get a hard paint line and has a tendency to chip.

Well i am having a buddy do the body work and paint and he has no idea how to take them out. I really do not want to tape them b.c i know after a while the clear coat and paint will start to flake. If i take them out do you think i can re-use them and still have a good seal around the window?

You take it out with a window removal tool. Or you can start it with a putty knife of some sort and go around it with piano wire. Yes you can use it again as long as clean the edges REALLY good.
if your guy doing the body work doesnt know how to remove quarter windows you arent going to be very happy in the end!
the best way to get them out is with a heat inductor, that way you dont risk scratching up the plastic trim on the inside of the car with a saw.

the body shop i usede to work at would just call a professional in to do it.. dont try to do it yourself unless you are experienced at it..spen a little money and let the pro's do it plus..if they break it they are liable.

Heat inductors are amazing my shop just got one. But clearly the guy doing your car wont have one if he doesnt even know how to take it out.
