Does anyone live in the Virginia Beach(Virginia) area that has checked out the prices for a new fit?
How much extra does the dealers ask compared to the price you would get for the stock sport fit from the official honda site? Anyone checked out the prices around here?

If the Fit is still in demand like I think it is most dealers are asking over MSRP. But you should easily get a Fit for MSRP if you do some homework. If you know exactly what you want you can just call all the dealers in a 20 mile radius and give them an offer. If they want more hang up and call someone else.
You should be able to get a Fit for MSRP + dest charge + sales tax on that + tax&license. Just make sure you add up those items yourself first and come up with a price. You have to go to your state's motor vehicle web site to find the actual cost of license and registration for a new Fit. Once you have a final, out-the-door price start calling.

I don't know if it matches up, but here in Toronto (Canadian $) the dealership we bought our Fit Sport off of was making ~$1100 on the LX model (which we originally wanted). I saw the other numbers for the DX and the Sport and IIRC there was only ~$200 play either way.
They aren't making much on them, but they're selling them like nobody's business. We've been waiting a month already and still won't get it until next Saturday. We had to upgrade to the Sport to even get it this soon... If we stuck with the LX we'd have been looking at Sep/Oct before we got it. That said, we're hell-bent on the 5-speed; the ATs seem to be a lot easier to get (but a lot less fun!).

What does that mean? Why don't you just write the dollar amount you paid and then no one has to wonder if that means msrp+$2000 markup+overpaid license fee+plus tax on all that... or if it just means you paid msrp out the door.
