Default Headers Needed

Can anybody recommend some good headers/test pipe combination for my car? It’s a 98 ex with a b18c. I don’t wanna spend over 500$. The cat i have now is robbing my power badly.

You are going to spend 500 for headers, but for a header, maybe 250

If PA doesn't have emissions testing, get a testpipe (www.testpipe.com).

Most header prices are determined on the finish, ex. Ceramic, Polished

You can't get a good header for $500 and test pipes are worthless.

Next?

PS - I don't want to hear **** about "DC" this and "Greddy" that because they're all ****. If that much money for a 1hp gain across the powerband really gets your mother wet, then by all means, but if you're serious about making power then you need to do more research (it's called searching, douche) and you need to budget more money.

I'll offer $125 per header. Or 490 for all 4 of them!

Exactly: you're not building a rocket so why waste the money on parts that won't make your car any faster.

Syndacate, you're the dumbest ************ on this website. Thanks once again for proving my point

Anywho, you could probably find a Hytech or Rage header for ~$700ish. But if you're not going to spend more than $500 for a header, then buy a topmount.

Don't waste your money on a ~300-400$ DC/ Greddy header. They don't make any power over a JDM ITR 4-1 header, or any more power than a 120$ megan racing header for that matter. Instead, save a couple hundred bucks more for a Rage/ Hytech/ SMSP/ etc. header that will actually make some power.

i just bought the rage header and i love it.
any engine mods.
if you dont have any mods in your motor a header like this would be worthless.

First of all, all the name brand **** has dyno results to proove that a header will gain you more than 1hp... Anybody that's had any experience with any kind of car will tell you that a name brand header would give you more than 1hp...so obviously you know nothing about any kind of car...with taht said

Just go to hell u worthelss piece of ****, if you actually had any brains, instead of telling him what NOT to do, u shoulda helped him out and told him what he could'eve done as an alternative besides aimlessly searching, what's he supposed to put it "what to buy instead of a header?" ******* get real..

******* die...you never do anything to help honda-tech or any of its members...ur completely pathetic...naw, u have to be one of the ******** that decides to butt expletive somebody because he calls it "vtech" instead of "vtec." You definately are ******* worthless.

Why would you recommend a DC header and then get all butt-hurt when someone calls you out on it?

I'd recommend simply keeping a close eye out in the market section of the forums you visit. I've come across a few great deals there. You never know when a project will turn-over or someone decides they want turbo, etc. Just keep an eye on what others have used previously, and keep their feedback in mind. Once youve got an idea on the brand and style, find someone whos maybe got one for sale.

Personally Ive had the best luck with the standard ITR, as most people will agree it's a great "bang for the buck" Part.

i have to agree w/ archiditis or whatever on this one, although i try not to normally. if you want to actually see a gain from a simple bolt on mod you will have to spend more than most people are willing. regardless of what anyone tells you a $40 ebay header is just as good performance wise as a $300 DC header. neither will show much if any gains on a dyno unless the motor has many more mods. i realize its one of the cheapest ways to make the car/motor look modified, but thats all its good for.

and comparing headers that cost under $600 is pointless, listen to what the more experienced people tell you. anybody dumb enough to pay $300 for a header is dumb enough to mistake a change in exhaust tone for a gain in HP. its simply not going to make a noticeable differance on a stock motor.
