Default Installing Carbon Fiber Truck Lid for 6th Gen Accord Coupe

whats up everyone? I just purchased a shaved carbon fiber trunk lid for my 99 accord coupe. I was planning on installing it this weekend, does anyone have experience on installing something like this and like to give me some advise? I am pretty capable of doing it myself - just thought I would see if anyone would suggest any helpful hints before I start.

Yes, shaved means that the middle piece is not there anymore - including the keyhole. The company I purchased it from (Extreme Dimensions) told me that there is no alternation needed - perfect fit

Yeah, that part sounds pretty easy - but there more to it. Have to take off the latch and install it on the new trunk ...including all the elecrical pieces...

I bought the same trunk during the group buy on v6p. Been installed on my car for a few months now. As far as the installation goes. It took me 40 minutes. You will probably have to remove your trunk springs given they were pushing the back corners up while the trunk was closed and latched. I removed mine and later fabricated two gas struts which hold open mine. The latch assy bolts right in place and you just need to fish the cable through the fiberglass bracing of the trunk to get in place. All in all a nice piece. However now that it's been on the car a while the clearcoat is showing some signs of wear unlike the cf hood I purchased from them at the same time

Thanks for your response. It apears that the installation is faily easy then. I don't believe I have any springs for the trunk which would make the instal time less. I knew I would have to fish the electical tubing in the new truck lid and it seems that removing and re-attaching the latch isn't all that complicated. Thanks again for your help - sorry to hear that the clear coat is going on it

Springs was the wrong way to describe it I guess. You have two tension rods up under your back deck speakers, those are what you will have to remove if the back corners stick up a little. Just be careful b/c they do kick a little when you pry them out of thier perches
