Default GT3076R -- should I plug the water lines?

Installing my Full-race GT3076R kit and my tuner called saying their were not any water lines included. So I called FR and asked if they were in the kit. They told me no it was not, and that the line on the turbo was 1/4 NPT. He also told me that they had problems with the water lines. Then he said they recommend pluging the lines?

Just wanted to see what everyone else was doing. I would think that if garrett put them on there it was for a reason.

theres people who run the water lines and those who dont. the garret gt turbos are pretty damn expensive you dont want too mess yours up. Id reccomend running an oilcooler if your not gonna run the waterlines.

Full-Race recommended to plug the water lines on a Garrett BB Turbo? I would definately run them, especially if you drive the car on the street.

Run the lines, please.. Your turbo will thank you. Watercooled cartridges are designed to have the water lines run..

Yea, when I called to see if lines should have been included thats what the guy said. I have done enough buisness with them to know anthony/sales and it wasn't him that told me. My guess is it was tod/sales... Oh well I guess thats what I get for asking salesman technical questions.

I'll definantly get some water lines for it.

I run the water lines on my GT3076RLE. No problems that I know of. Coolant temps are 187F - 190F boosting, 192F - 195F cruising and 198F - 202F sitting at lights, etc.

Ok guys, I'm trying to get some water lines asap. It is the only thing keeping me from starting this car. FR tech line got answered by sales and the guys that would know were not in yet.

What size adapter do I need to run water lines for the GT3076R. Someone said 1/4NPT but the guy installing it along with myself question that size.

They are indeed 14mm bolts, if you dont want to source them from a store just get them from a 1st gen DSM as they're the same.

hope this helps

if you plan on driving the car on the streets the run the water lines. if it is just a drag car then dont worry about it.

Geoff said on the forums here that they never run lines, and to date they have never experienced failure, loss in longevity or performance due to NOT running water lines. Searched, but cant find thread...it was this guys BB that had water leaking and was corroding his ****.

I never ran water to my 3037. Worked flawless.

Theres no way you can expect enough oil coming through a .035" restrictor to adquately cool AND lubricate a turbo. These turbos were designed to be water cooled. These types of threads are retarded. Why would anyone want to risk a $1200+ turbo to skip a trivial step?

^^To be quite frank, id take full race's word over risking corrosion and water leakage.

A Honda engineer will tell you B series stock cylinders are by NO means designed to endure the rigors or forced induction and that you highly risk engine failure. And ya know what? I took Jeff Evans word over Honda :D and my teg was worth a whole lot more than $1200

This argument is what is retarded, because this thread is debating whether to follow the factory guidelines of the turbo manufacturer to boost the **** out of a factory N/A Honda. No one follows the rules here man....

C'mon Fled, you've known me long enough not to bullshit anybody. I don't worry about what "they" say. I've worked with them to the point where we purposefully destroy them. Run the lines, please.
