Default Tranny Leak

So my tranny is leaking from the shift rod seal. You say change the seal, but it is brand new and leaking from between the seal and the rod not the seal and the tranny. I noticed that the rod has some scores in it, I dont know why. Anybody else ever have this problem? Any info would be great.

get a busted trans and swap out the rod. Shouldn't be a big issue. How bad is the leak. Like drips or puddles?

It's a brand new tranny and it's leaking? Where are the screws that you are talking about?

can you get the rod out w/o taking the tranny apart?
