Default STARTING PROBLEM

Alright, this is what is goin on. I have read alot about this problem, but nothing answers mine. I read about not being able to get the fuel pump to turn on, but this doesn't happen to me. It would be able to start, but then it would not want to . Until I start kinda quickly turning my key. Then all of the sudden it stopped working. I could turn the key to the ON notch, and push start it. So I finally gave up and tore my steering bezel up and tested the wires. It would transfer power to the starter signal, but when I tested the signal wire on the starter itself, there was not power. I want to know what is between this connection and how do I solve it. Righht now I start my car with an automotive push button switch connect from my battery to the starter. Thanks for the help in advance.
