Stickier tires are always stickier, even in the rain.
Hydroplaning is the only issue you need to worry about. Since they have tread on them, I would not worry about it.

I used my full tread Azenis on the way home from work in a downpour. On this corner in the dry I can take the turn around 40-50mph. Well did the same corner at the same speed. Great tires. Although like any other tires as they wear down they are prone to hydroplaning.

The 712s aren't bad, but I think the Azenis are the superior tire overall.
