Default For All Interior Guru's

Bascially this is on the topic of the ugly blue interior in my 89 DX. I want to know around how long it would take to paint ALL the blue pieces to black and if it's even worth it -OR- should i just swap out the blue interior for a 90-91 SI black interior. Also i would like to know an approximate cost of doing the SI interior swap.. I've searched and searched but i only get people with questions about painting, never a DIY post about this. all comments are welcome! thanks

i picked up a totaled (hit a curb oh boohoo) DX for 250... stripped the near perfect bloack/charcoal interior and fenders and sold the motor / tranny for 250...

just keep an eye out in the paper / wreckign yard auctions...

there here in my town all the time...

To use the 90-91 cluster, I beleive you will have to do some wiring.

its not worth it. i painted mine and its rubbing off the door handles and window cranks. it took me about a day to do. it did look good when it was finished.

Make sure to let the parts air off after you first paint them cause my friend painted his interior pieces also and installed them the same day and you can still smell the paint till this day

after doing a lot of painting of interior parts in my EF (so long ago, i don't remember the procedure, and now i hate it the color anyway) I would suggest finding an Si Interior, or otherwise black parts. The amount of time and effort you'll put into painting and repainting, and painting yet again to get it right, save yourself the frustration.

I'd call up hap recycling, and see what they are asking for a full interior. dont email them, because they never get back to you. or a local junkyard, but im sure you know that already.

and yeah, from what ive read, there will be wiring for the guage cluster, but its not all that bad.

well I've been searching and reading all day *no work* and it seems I'm now leaning more and more to just slowly swapping to black interior. I found a post about the 88-89 CX's having black interior just wondering if this is true and wondering if i still would have to do some re-wiring for the cluster.. thanks for the input guys

my 88 LX had the blue interior........i swapped it out for a rattle canned integra center consol with an ITR shift *** and blue/grey 4dr DC integra seats that closely matched the stock stuff. after that i added an aluminum plate with an AEM sticker to the passengers side dash. i get compliments all the time...

keeping it clean is the best way to make your interior look good

Yup. I painted the door panels on my eh black, (when i bought it they were white). They looked good for like a year, now they're starting to fade and look kinda brownish in the sun

I hate them.
