I recently replace my 1995 Honda Civic with a japanese import used 1995 civic engine. Now the engine light comes on after a minute. It idles very rough when you start the engine at that point there is no engine light. after a minute the idling settles down and the engine light comes on. Any one know the reason behind this and what can be done.

gotta find out why the check engine light is on. problems are definetly related
there is a jumper on the pass side, under the glove box. jump that and count the flashes (check engine light). long is 10, short is 1
tell us what it is and we can help

 

I'm having a very similar problem in a 93 del sol 1.5 swapped japan 40k miles I'll let you know what my code thing says if you count your engine check flashes. Also do you ever have problems starting?

 

Engine starts fine. Engine code is 14. I was told it could be air in the coolant. So I bled the radiator. What else could it be.
