Pioneer DEH-P4800MP opinions
Hello everyone. I'm in the market for a new headunit. I have a beater car and I'm just looking to enjoy myself in it. Not really looking to spend crazy amounts of money. I have been a pioneer fan for awhile and the Pioneer DEH-P4800MP has caught my eye. Anybody have any opionions on this headunit? Or any suggestions towards a different one? Here is a link to the stats http://www.crutchfield.com/S-0...0#Tab Thanks in advance for any help.

That radio will cost you $119.00, Thats a hell of a deal. Right now they have a $20 discount off anything over $100. And you get free install gear to go with it. I price crutchfield. But not this week, lol
so are you saying to buy from crutchfield or not? yes i could get the radio cheaper other places but crutchfield includes a DIN tool, mounting brackets, and a wiring harness for free.
any have any information on the headunit itself?

Yes I am saying get it at crutchfield, you get everything you need to install this radio. All for $119, I don't know anyother place that is going to give you a deal like this. I sell that radio for 135 just by its self.
i think im going with the alpine 9856. all my friends rave about their alpines. and im just a little disappointed at pioneer, dont really like the styling of the 4800 in person.

One thing to keep in mind, whatever HU you end up with, get it at an authorized dealer if you do not you will get no manufacturers warranty

^^^^ ditto that, real good radio but your not going to get that for the price of the pioneer. Unless you are going to step up to the plate and shell out $ 180 buxs, As long as its not the glide touch, I here so many neg things about it.
No you will not, MSRP is $230, and no the CDA-9856 is not a glide touch... http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/p...-9856
Of Alpines 06 lineup only the DVA-9965 has glide touch... http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/p...-9965
Glide touch was one of those things that manufacturers do because they think it will sell product, it turned out not to be a good thing, people loved it or hated it, and no matter how many people liked it, if you have people hating something it is dropped, [as Alpine has done]
