Engine Overheating- what should I check-D16a6
I serched just making sure now
I plan on buying a new thermasta tommarow, and a fan switch because mines doesnt kick on for ****, but other then what do i check. I
m going to flush out the engine too tommarow with the thermastat out.
What do i check to make my car not overheat anymore.

check to see if its using coolant. Take the radiator cap off and run your finger around the rubber seal. If there is carbon on it you have a bad head gasket (pretty common for an older d series). Start with the small stuff first though

ok now what about flushing the system, will that help this.
and the fan switch is the one that turns on the fan when it reaches a certain tempature, because my fan still does not work, the fan itself works, but it wont turn on

I flush my coolant when I'm changing the thermostat, radiator, or water pump because I'm worried about contamination and the contaminates that are already in it plus its probably never been done to your car so why not do it and get some fresh juices in there.
