Default Tial Wastegate Users Check In

I bought a 38mm Tial wastegate a while ago brand new and never really played around with it until now. I read somewhere that you are supposed to be able to push the valve in. But when I tried to push mine in its like stuck or something because I can't move it at all. I'm thinking it might not open when I boost. What do you guys do if its stuck closed?

try pushing harder ???

seriously if you want to see your wastegate open, put some compressed air into the bottom port (ONLY FOR LIKE .5 SEC, I WOULD NOT RECOMEND YOU HOLDING THE COMPRESSED AIR IN THE WG FOR MORE THAN IT TAKES TO SEE THE VALVE MOVE)

lol for that tial with stock spring, you gotta push mad hard.

when you put the "valve seat" ring in...make sure you have the "catch" edges facing IN towards the body of the wastegate. The valve seat ring "seats" the thing that pushes in so that it forms a seal. tightening down the bolts will compress the spring and for a seal.

You can't boost lower that what the spring is rated at. But you can boost higher than your spring if you have a boost controller to regulate your boost.

Maybe if you were using an ebay gate or some other knockoff, but tial is extremely trusted and its rare to have one stick, they are very hard to push open. if you must, put it in a vice with a rag, take the backside of a small hammer that will fit inside the radius of the valve and push until it opens. You dont have to use a hammer but somthing of that nature. Anyway my 0.2 cents. Good luck.
