Weird Question, ex driving impression with manual trans and ac on
Is it me or does your car seem totally different with the ac on? I kno the as robs some power, but mine seems to effect the gear ****, kinda makes it harder to shift.
i don't experience it "grabbing" or making it harder to shift with the AC on, definately robs it of the power it already doesn't have... but definately should NOT make shifter harder ... take it to the dealer, warranty baby!

I know what you are saying because I have the exact same experience. I think your meaning of harder to shift is it won't be smooth to shift using the pace without A/C. I think with AC on, the rpm drops faster + is harder to rev up. So I have to shift faster, rev higher, pressing the gas pedal deeper when heel-toe in order to compensate.

Yeah I have the same experience in my SI. With AC on, the DBW hang is almost eliminated, and I have to gas deeper and longer when shifting up and down. The car is noticably slower and rpms drop fast with no hang.

i can concur with this.. i thought i was just sucking hard at shifting at times.... never really noticed it was just when i had the AC on lol

Its very hard for me to shift smoothly with the AC on. Absolutely smooth off.. turn it on and my passengers get whiplash. You need to add a bunch more gas
My goodness I thought I was forgetting how to drive a stick until I read these responses. I live I Phoenix and the A/C is on full time and I totally noticed that I have a hard time shifting smoothly expecially from 1st to 2nd. I even get complaints from passengers!! Whats up with that? It's almost as if the clutch becomes very grabby. Almost engages right off the floor board. Who knows might just take it in for a look. Gonna use that warranty like a ************!!!
Not only that, but with the A/C on (even in an Si) the throttle response, in particular starting up a hil from a light (car already warmed up) is extremely sluggish necessitating quite a bit of "throttle" to almost even get the car to move.
