Default mph needle jumping

hey guys i have a 91ls n i was wondering what is making the mph needle bounce around while im driving. it wont do it as much when im accelerating but when im slowing down it will bounce up and down. does anyone know whats causing thins and know how to fix it?

Your speedometer cable is sticking. My old Camry and my friend's 88 Prelude did the same thing. Take the cable out of the tranny and lube it up with some graphite dry lube, found at hardware stores in the section with door ***** and door locks and keys and stuff.

oh alright thanks man. how long does it take to usually get to the actual cable? like taking apart the dash or whatever?
