So my wife has a 2014 Odyssey with the automatic sliding rear doors. The passenger side sliding door cable randomly snapped the other week while using the door. Motor still runs cause you can hear it but the cable was hanging out of the door. I took this to multiple mechanics, even Honda only shops. NONE of them have seen that cable snap on the newer models before...... Even talked to the dealership and they havn't seen the cable snap either. I ordered just the cable off ebay, but the shops are saying they wont install just the cable because they have never done that before and are saying they will need to order the whole motor assembly with cables and tracks. The way they want to do it will cost $1K..... Has anyone had this issue before and can you just replace the cable? If so, how difficult or can i convince a shop to replace just the cable? Im in Florida.
