Default MEASURED the thickness of the rear fender

After many people wanted me to measrure the thickness of an ITRs rear side fender, I did it.

It is a bit less than 1mm with the paint on the metall.

Good work.

And, yes, you will have to measure a LS/GSR now.

Now go throw some shrimp on the bar-b.

A big to the R doctor for taking the time to do this.

For some reason though the pics are making me dizzy. I think cos the caliper is so close.

For reference, here again is the famous chassis reinforcement pic:

Bodywise, it's mainly the wheel arch, c-pillar, and rearward roof rail that are supposed to be thicker. I don't know why the good engineers at Honda couldn't have been more specific in regards to how much thicker.

Hey, if you can get Type R's in Austria, getting an LS should be a cake walk.

Fenders? The angle of photos is wierd but i think you used the wrong term - I thought we were asking for the rear quarter panels / rear arches (leading up to the roof)

To my understanding, those were the components that were supposed to be "strengthened" according to acura (and that diagram).

I have an NSX and when we talk on the rear quarter panels we talk about this:

This is a quarter panel.

well it would be 1/32 inch thick steel without the paint.

but is it the rear wheel well that is measured? it should be thicker then LS.
there is about 30-35 Type R in norway and 1 gsr (imported from usa) :D

IF you guys check the part numbers on Acura's parts websites you will notice that there is different part numbers for the inner and outer panels. As well as some other inner parts. Go check it out

You should see if there is anyone from HT in your area that has a ultrasonic thinkness guage. I use one at work all the time. You could get a exact measurement to .001 of a inch on mine.
