Default Is it Ok to get the (auto) transmission fluid change for a 1993 integra LS

The car doesn't shift smoothly and I feel that its getting worse. Its gradually getting more rougher when the auto tranny shifts from first to second and then third to forth. Currently it has 156,000 miles on it and it's a 1993 (almost 13 yr old car). Would it run smoother/perform better if I get the Transmission fluid change....I have heard some people saying that for such an old car with such high mileage you should NOT change transmission fluid..... Please guys if you all could help me on this....Would really appreciate it

the only reason i think that not changing would be any good is that the detergents in the new fluid will clean off all the dirt on any seals, causing them to leak.

but lets look at the other side of things, how old is that fluid and is it still good? Is it still lubricating the gears and flowing with the same viscosity?

look in the owners manual and see what the recommended change interval is.

If it were my car and it wasn't shifting properly, a fluid change would be the first thing i tried.

I agree

But it sounds like a good excuse to do a manual swap
