The shorter the sidwall, the less sidewall flex you'll get during extreme cornering. With that setup, he can use wider tires and also they provide a wider wheelbase which helps with traction.

what if his car is making over 220hp? you know a car that light making that much power with that little of wheels would just spin everywhere

Yes there is a purpose...for autocrossing and roadcoursing and the like, you'd want the most traction you can possibly get. Wider = better.

that;'s Jauque's car...crazy fast dude from BC. Running like 20 lbs on his SOHC blower. Car is nuts fast. Everytime I see the car he has bigger and wider wheels.

Funny how a functional car gets ragged on, but a blue Cusco cage gets praised
