So im getting ready to buy some new seats, what you see pictured below. He claims for them to be brand new, but threw away the boxes in a move. As far as I know there are no replicas of these seats, but I would not expect from Status what you see below, where the bolts screw into the seat. sorry for the big pics, but I wanted you guys to see details. Let me know guys, thanks

well you cant see the threads, the only 2 nuts you see, around them you can see the kevlar is "uprooted" no?
Bolts don't look that bad.....I don't think you can get by without making some kind of imperfection when making those from factory.... get more pics of the whole seats...
I haven't seen knock-offs yet

yeah yeah. ok i got whole pics, but thats the main area im worried about, like maybe a defective set? Im sure they are real idk its just alot of money and I want to make sure they are in 100percent perfect shape, how they come from Status

Does this guy have receipts or can he tell you where he purchased the seat? Just tell him you just need a little proof cause it's alot of money and you want to be sure. I'm sure he wouldn't mind. Now if he gets defensive or insulted then maybe you need to spend your money somewhere else. Maybe you can call statusracing.com and ask them where they attach that label. Maybe it's supposed to be hidden like the pics of the seats on their website.

i asked him, bought directly from Satus, so he says... no receipt or invoice. well there is another pic of him lifting the bottom up but no sticker. I emailed them twice. first email asked about sizing and if there are fakes. second I sent after I got pics, asked them about the seats legitness and the whole torn up screw area

imo. i would treat the sale as a verry clean used seats. as far as the bolts goes, i think (judging from the pics) i think it should be ok. but it is hard to tell if they over tighten that bolt on. i doubt though. looks like its just finger tight on there.
as far as the price and it being a knock off, i leave that for you to deiced. haven't seen a knock off status yet, but i have seen knock offs to look like that just not say status.

I think you are just seeing an excess thickness of resin around the threaded bung portion. I wouldn't be too concerned. My CF Sparcos have no visable thickness change on the outside (flat carbon with a threaded hole), but the inner part of the seat has a considerably thicker buildup on the inside for strenght....
Status has actually had (most of) their seats FIA tested, unlike many of the other lesser known brands. These obviously don't have the FIA stamp, but Status isn't exactly junk like the other guy suggested.
They aren't exactly knock offs, but then again they aren't exactly cheap.
Edit- Also you may want to replace the bolts being used with a Grade 8/10.5...I can't make out what is stamped on the head of the bolt.
