What he's trying to say,..is just about every part in the motor has a stamp or Number on it(besides Block code). He could get a damn b18block w/ like a damn Si head? You never know.He dosen't want to have to open the block to read pistons and the like but wants to know if there are any tell tell signs besides the valve cover having a HONDa symbol on it(like the SI) to tell if its really JDM?
I know it will be numbers like P73 or something like that(not ECU number) but thats like what I think the # is on a R head and valve train stuff?? Not sure on that one?
Remember its a SIR-G motor(JDM GSR) 180hp

there are a few...

a jdm motor will have a wire harness that routes to the driver side of the car... so you cant use it. If you are getting a jdm gsr motor... the engine code will have
b18c and thats it... no numbers after the c. Teh intake manifold should be a gsr one.. dual butterflys.. but a jdm one does not have a evap sensor on the top left of it where the usdm one has. Last thing is that the ecu should be marked P72 and the jdm one is considerably smaller than a usdm one. Thats all i can think of.. and that should be enough.
O yea.. if all that checks out.. im sure the motor is legit.. but if you even want more.. on the front of the head.. right around where the header bolts up should be a stamp that says P72(obviously it has to if the intake manifold is a gsr one) and it should also have a year stamped on it. If the motor is 94, it should have the yr 93 stamped on the head.

i have a JDM Integra Si with B18C engine. Here's a list if everything stamped marked onto my engine. They may be the same as GSR motors but it may help you tell for sure.

1. on the front of the cylinder block under the valve cover on the far left (cyl1) P72-1 is stamped.
2. On the block at cyl2 position are 4 circles which tell the age of the engine.
3. At cyl3 are 4 squares with japanese/kenji writing
4. at cyl4 large 'H' and a small 'm' (m is in italics)
5. the engine number is stamped under where B18C is stamped mine is 1009950 (94 engine)
6. On the right hand side (cam belt) is a sticker in japanese with spark plug recommendations
7 on the I/M behind cyl4 P72 HF1 is stamped.

When you get your engine Pm me if there are any further things you want to compare.
