my integra is frustrating me.
My integra has been giving me some trouble for a couple of weeks now. I will try to explain what is going on so you honda tech geniuses might be able to help me out.
In first gear as I start to take off my car feels like its not getting enough gas or fuel. It just goes to like 2K rpm and stays there and wont go any higher. So when this happens i step on the gas a little bit harder or shift into 2nd gear and the "choking" stops. This has been going on at least once everytime i take off.
Sometimes when im in 3rd gear i can feel the "choking" too so i step a little harder on the gas
A couple of times, my car also idles irregularly. The normal idle is probably 500 rpm but sometimes it goes to 100rpm and feels like it is about to die but it doesnt. WHen it gets to 100 rpm it jumps back up to 500 rpm again.
SO these are the symptoms of my car right now. I drive a 1995 GSR bone stock except for a short ram intake and a dc 4-1 ceramic header. The car has 95K miles on it. The timing belt, fuel filter, spark plugs, distributor cap have all been replaced about a month ago during my full tune up. A friend also told me that it could be that i have a dirty fuel injector.
Can someone please help.

The CEL is not on and it is not flashing. however when first installed my header it was on but it went away. I also installed a catback exhaust system and the CEL went on too but went away. When i removed the exhaust system and went back to stock the CEL again turned on and again it went away. So currently the CEL is not on anymore.

fuel filter and sparkplugs have been replaced with acura oem. But i will look into the other two items. Thanks i really appreciate it.
Anyone else have an answer or have similar problems?

I had that problem when i first bought the car...unplugging the o2 sensor "fixed" it, then a couple months later when i was tired of 20mpg I plugged it back in and never had the problem again.
Not sure what the problem "really" was.

I have the same problem. I have 1994 Integra (hutchback) and it just "died" on me one day while it was on Park. Changed all the sparkplugs and it was running. However, now it has the symptoms mentioned above: It had a hard time starting, It chokes during initial accelearation (1st gear), or when idle, or when decelarating. I constantly have to put it in neutral and step on the gas to revolution esp on traffic lights. However, that maneuver did not work in the long run coz now it just chokes when you put on gas and stall. It sometimes decide to run ok...but lately, it will not even get pass from my garage port. To prevent from further stalling on the road, I went to our mechanic and he said it needs a new ABS Control system coz he just had somebody came in with same symptoms... I am not certain on that though and that thing cost $800, so I need 2nd opinion, or 3rd or 4th on this one.
At first i thought it was my abs because when i first got the car everytime i start it the ABS would make this buzzing sound. IT still makes the buzzing sound now but a mechanic told me that it was okay. I will try to clean my fuel injectors. Can I clean my injectors by myself or will i need to go to a shop?
Also one day my dad decided to was my engine with those engine cleaning stuff, which is fine but to wash the chemicals off he decided to use a pressure spray. He did this once and my car was choking like crazy. So I took out the spark plugs and water was shooting up like crazy. Is it possible that there is still water in my engine???

How long ago was this? usually water would dry off in a couple of days. When your crusin in like 5th gear and step on it does the engine bogg before accelerating? if it does do this your timeing might be off. Get a timing gun and check it.

Thoses guys do great work on injectors, and they are in the 310 also. You can pull them off, drop them off and pick them up the next day (maybe) that will at least help in the process.

This was probably last november. Well it happened twice the most recent time was about a month ago, the same day i did my full tune up. It does not bogg in 5th gear tho. Should i remove the spark plugs again and check if there is any water?

Did you check the IAC Valve? A sticking Idle Air Control Valve would make your idle drop and almost stall like that, but might not set off the CEL.

But what about the choking/sputtering that i feel as i take off on first gear?

I had this problem on a customers car last week and it took me a while to get it. His was a pump and main relay. Not 100% sure that's your problem, but I would definately check all your resistances and whatnot. That's what I had to do to figure out that other one.
