I pretty much got someone who is doing this for free (i'm doing some glass work for him for the exchange).

Is it safe to run it like that for a month or so? Thanks

It will not hurt, or damage anything. It will, however, be pretty loud. But, it is nothing to worry about.

I have 3" Thermal Turbo Back exhaust coming from a 2.5" to 3" stepper pipe (No Cat) and then to a DC Sport 4-1 header. My Full Race project got put off for a little while and I got tired of seeing the exhaust sitting in my garage. I'll try to post some sound clips up. It's definately loud. The car also still runs quite well. I didn't loose a lot of power down low due to the larger diameter of the piping which suprised me and it pulls great on the top end.

What muffler do you guys recommend for the piping? I really want it to be as quiet as possible since it already is pretty freakin loud. Who ever owned it before me had this crappy custom piping (looks like 2.5") put on with a ricer canon on it.

I know awhile back I knew this guy who had an EM1 boosted running about 5lbs and you could not hear the sound of the exhaust at all just the blow-off valve and the turbo spool. I believe maybe it had a silencer on it. Anybody know of something similar i can do to that? Thanks

you didnt hear his exhaust because the turbo acts as a restriction/muffler...you dont have that...so yours will not sound as quiet as his...you can try different length resonators in the piping to quiet it down

Ditto on what he said. A turbo generally tones down the exhaust.
